Melinda Grubbs is a visionary who creates personal, individual environments that withstand the test of time. She is Midwestern born and educated at Purdue University School of Architecture and Interior Design. She relies on precise planning, a commitment to the beauty of balance, line, proportion and obsessive attention to detail. She is able to create an environment that is pared down yet timeless and enduring in style and elegance.

Moving to California in the mid eighties, she honed her skills by working with a nationally known Interior Design firm helping her clients realize their dreams. After ten years in the California design industry, Melinda was presented with the challenge of building her own dream home by the sea. “My work is quite architectural in concept, but is also intended for people to enjoy living and entertaining. I loved the idea of bringing the outdoors in; having landscape shape the interior environment of the home through color, texture and also as art. After raising four children with their own peculiarities and needs, I understand the value of functional, organized, cleanable spaces as well as the importance of capturing enduring beauty.

I consistently walk the tightrope of balancing sophistication with practicality, city-smart furnishings with the relaxed California lifestyle. I am interested in furnishings that project confidence and a strong sense of personal style. My clients personality and particular needs dictate that style. It is my job to understand, interpret and implement them.”
